This course introduces the fundamental concepts and contemporary approaches to Smart Cities. Topics include:
• Definition and evolution of the Smart City concept
• Core components and infrastructures (ICT, IoT, Big Data, Cloud, AI, 5G)
• Smart mobility, sustainable energy, smart buildings, and green infrastructure
• Smart governance, policy-making, and citizen participation
• Data security, privacy, and social equity in smart urban systems
• Assessing the social, economic, and environmental impacts of Smart Cities
• International case studies (Barcelona, Singapore, Songdo, Dubai, etc.)
• Design and presentation of small-scale Smart City projects
