This design studio course builds upon the fundamentals of architectural design and introduces students to the principles of articulation and material selection. In this way, the students will generate concepts and development of a rich design process to create evocative spatial experiences of architecture. The relationship between form, function, and aesthetics to create compelling architectural designs will be explored on a specific site where sections and context are heavily represented. The course also emphasizes the importance of sustainable and environmentally responsible material choices in contemporary architecture.
The major issues to be dealt include concept generation, place making, architectural design, analysis and synthesis.
