This course is an introduction to the theory and practice of ecological approaches to architectural design. Historical and theoretical frameworks for ecological design thinking are presented with a focus on basic ecological design principles and concepts in micro and macro scale, which is going to focus on the small scale (buildings) and the larger scale (urban patterns). The course also aims to raise the environmental issues awareness, specifically in relation to land, water, air, and energy and material resources.
